This was my first major project involving a real client. A collaboration between YRGO and Chalmers Ventures. As a designer, I was responsible for creating a brand identity and a new logotype for our given company, KORALL. During the course of about two months, I diligently worked to meet the client's requirements, ensuring both the logo's visual expression and the brand identity aligned with their vision.
During our first meeting, we agreed that KORALL would benefit from complementing its existing text logo with a symbol. This would not only strengthen the company's identity but also improve usability, especially when the logo is scaled down and the text loses its effectiveness.
We also decided to change the font of the logo to a slightly bolder variant. This decision was made to match the thickness with the icon, thereby creating a harmonious interplay between the two, without one overpowering the other. At the same time, we managed to improve readability when the logo is scaled down.
Initially, we were eager to use many colors, but after extensive testing and iterations, we concluded that this was not something KORALL needed. All that was necessary, was an accent color to make buttons and similar elements stand out, while KORALL's vibrant images would speak for themselves.
